Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. She also was an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at the Food Network. With her signature spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals straightforward, simple techniques to master for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its environment. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English degree as well as a communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful learning experience. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduating Chef Burrell lived in Italy for one year taking classes at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) located in Tuscany. In Italy she acquired an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian culinary traditions. It had a significant impact on how she views food. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to enhance the lives of kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about childhood diabetes. as a speaker, guest and mentor Burrell travels throughout the U.S. to share her culinary passion and career. Anne said she felt lucky to be able to be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
